Privacy Policy

Last updated June 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BlurFirst (“we”, “us”) handles personal data for BlurFirst — the browser extension and this website. The short version: the content you blur never leaves your browser, and we collect only what’s needed to run accounts and licenses.

What the extension does (and doesn’t) collect

  • It does not collect the content of pages you blur — ever. Blurs are rendered locally and stored only in your browser (chrome.storage). They are never transmitted, logged, or analysed.
  • The extension makes one kind of network request: validating your license key with our payments provider (Dodo Payments), on activation and an occasional re-check. No browsing data is sent.
  • We don’t track your browsing, and the extension contains no analytics or ads.

Information we collect (website & accounts)

  • Email address — to sign you in (passwordless magic link) and tie your license to you.
  • License records — your license key, plan/status, and how many devices it’s activated on.
  • Billing information — handled by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. We do not see or store your card details; Dodo shares limited data with us (e.g. name, email, country, subscription/payment status).
  • A session cookie — set when you sign in to your account dashboard. No advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To provide and secure your account, issue and validate licenses, process billing, and respond to support requests. That’s all.

Who processes data on our behalf

  • Dodo Payments — payments, tax, invoicing (merchant of record).
  • Supabase — database hosting (your email, session, and license records).
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Resend — sending sign-in emails.

We never sell your data, and we don’t share it beyond the processors above.

Retention

We keep account and license data while your account is active. Email us to delete it; we’ll remove what we’re not legally required to keep (e.g. tax/invoice records held by Dodo).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email rajuraman45@gmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

International transfers & children

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own by the processors listed above. BlurFirst isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We’ll update this page if our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above.
